episode49 updated and linked pages related to the J103 call for listeners to support the Salvation Army in their Hurricane Katrina effort
"We knew the J103 listeners would turn to the site for the latest information on how they could help. We made the update a top priority," said Kurt Schaffer, managing partner and chief architect at episode49.
"We realize that what we did is very small in comparison to everything needed to overcome this tragedy. It was just a simple effort that we knew could help connect concerned people to a means to make a difference," Schaffer said.
J103 is asking their listeners to support the victims of Hurricane Katrina through prayer for the victims, their families, and the rescue workers, and is asking for those who can to send a financial donation to the Salvation Army Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.
"The best way is to help financially. Donations allow us to go into the cities that have been hit the hardest and purchase food and supplies directly from the very area needing our support. This allows us to work with the local business people and help get them back on their feet", said Major Stephen Justice of the Salvation Army in Chattanooga.
episode49 has supported J103 through maintenance and development of their web presence since 2004. J103 recently implemented the episode49 created donation system, Caritas247, to help collect and manage their donations.
